Samit Patel’s coach thinks that it is the last chance for the all-rounder to cement his place in the English side

http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Newell-c76124 has said that it is the last chance for Patel to cement his place in England’s limited overs setup.
Patel has recently made a comeback in the England team as he was named in the English limited overs squad to take on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the upcoming T20 and One Day International (ODI) series, which is going to start on the 25th of the this month with
a T20 international. It will be followed by five ODIs with the first match on the 28th of June at the Oval.
Newell said that the left arm spin bowler will have to keep working hard and stay on his toes to grab this opportunity because there is lot of difference between county cricket and international cricket.
The Nottinghamshire coach said, "What I'm saying to him is 'congratulations and don't c**k it up', so if he doesn't understand this time he never will. The requirements of the England set up will be tougher than those of a county side, as they should be,
because of the intensity and the amount of cricket that is played.”
The 26-years old, Samit made his international debut in 2008 and since then he has played 11 ODIs. The hard hitting middle order batsman has not made a huge impact with the bat in international cricket so far but claimed a five-wicket haul against South
Africa in his first season at the Oval.
Although the Nottinghamshire all-rounder has been doing very good in county cricket but he is generally considered as a limited overs specialist.
His coach also believes that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Huzefa-Mohammed-Patel-c63657 should be focussing on limited overs cricket because it will be very difficult for him to get a place in England’s Test team as England have a number of quality options in the bowling department at the moment.
"I think in one-day cricket he can certainly perform that No. 2 role. I'm not sure whether he could do it in Test cricket, England have got options better than Samit for the longer form of the game when it comes to left-arm spinners,” Newell added.
