The 44-year-old stressed that he joined hands in the Allianz Arena project as he was satisfied with the foundations of the club and would have rejected the offer otherwise. He outlined the importance of mutual respect and trust
and said that without them the relationship does not work between a coach and a sporting director.
"As I said, the basics are in place, or I would not have come. If you want a relationship based on trust and the head coach doesn't want it, it can't work, he added.
Sammer claimed that they are not guaranteed to win all the games in the upcoming campaign and have to stay together in their hunt for title glory after a dry spell of two years.
"But for all this, I don't believe we will win every game this season. There will be situations where we have to put up a united front," he finally concluded.
Heynckes was appointed Der FCB manager in July 2011, and helped them finish runners-up in Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season.
