Recently appointed Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer, vows to deliver immediate success.
After finishing the season empty handed, the Bayern supremo looked for answers within the club. A lengthy discussion with the Board of directors followed the sacking of Christian Nerlinger after a difference of opinion.
The Bavarian giants finished eight points behind the champions Borussia Dortmund after a disappointing domestic campaign. They did not get much success in Europe either, as Jupp Heynckes’ side surrendered a 1-0 lead to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786

Fingers were pointed and questions were asked, the club brought in reinforcements and changes were made at the top. After the sacking of Nerlinger, the club appointed Matthias Sammer, a well known figure in German football, as
the Sporting Director.
44-year old Sammer served as Stuttgart’s manager from 2004-2005. After leaving Die Schwaben he was lured to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904’s National set up by Wolfgang Niersbach, and worked as a technical director. He worked with the DFB for six years
before being appointed the Sporting director at Bayern.
After joining the Bavarian giants Sammer revealed he is looking to be successful straight away. He believes that at a top club like Bayern one cannot accept to be a loser.
"We want to be, must be and will be successful straight away. Bayern Munich is a top club in Germany, Europe and the world," he is quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Stuttgart manager also revealed that it was hard for him to turn down an opportunity to work with such a prestigious club like FCB. He also thanked the DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach for understanding his position,
as Sammer insists that the chance to work with Bayern was too good to refuse.
"If you're offered the opportunity to work for this club, you don't think it over. It's extremely appealing and I feel honoured. We settled everything relatively quickly once I called him [Wolfgang Niersbach]. Wolfgang Niersbach

After signing a host of new players the recently appointed sporting director will have to deal with issue of chopping and changing the first team. Sammer is also understood to be assessing Jupp Heynckes position at the club after
a disappointing season.
