The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international has stated his ambition of creating a youth legacy at the Bavarian outfit to secure the future success of the Allianz Arena side
Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer claims he wants to do something productive for the youth academy, but stressed that he needs a couple of years to leave his mark on the future of the German club. Therefore, he should
be judged on his work after three to four years on establishing a great youth program.
The club official joined Der FCB last summer and is positive that he can do a lot for the Bavarian giants’ future. He also promised that the Bundesliga outfit will many more league honours in the years to come. He proposed the
idea to set-up a top class youth system to help improve the quality of better facilities and training manuals.
The 45-year-old claimed that he wants the club to produce top youth players consistently to boost their chances of winning silverware. He admitted that they will need to be patient with this project and will bear fruit in a few
years, and he will be appreciated for his efforts.
"It is my intention to establish youth in order to better manage a sustainable and long-term performance. It will take at least another three or four years to properly evaluate. Then hopefully what I'm doing here will be recognisable,”
he stated.
"That does not mean that I do not feel any pressure. I view pressure as something positive. The pressure of working with such outstanding personalities as Uli Hoeness, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Karl Hopfner and Jupp Heynckes is phenomenal," he mused.
"It is important in my opinion to understand the mindset of the players," the 1996 European Footballer of the year added.
Furthermore, he stated that he is under constant pressure to do things better. He said that working alongside great people like Jupp Heynckes, Karl Hopfner, Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge gives him an amazing feeling.
Die Roten are currently placed at the top of the league table with 42 points from 17 matches, nine more than second-placed Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
