Newcastle United player Sammy Ameobi is looking to impress manager Alan Pardew and wants to feature regularly in the first team set-up.
The young attacker is expected to start in the Europa League tomorrow against Club Brugge after making two impressive appearances for the club.
Ameobi featured in the reverse fixture against Brugge, along with his older brother Shola Ameobi and was present in the squad for the 2-1 victory over West Brom in the Premier League last week.
The player is among several bright prospects rising through the club’s academy ranks. Ameobi was born in Newcastle, and joined the club’s youth system in July 2008. The player made his reserve team debut later that year against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385.
He made his debut for the first team in 2011, and scored his first senior goal for the Magpies on 15th July 2011 in a pre-season friendly.  The player signed a new deal with the club last year, which keeps him at Tyneside till 2015. He made his
first ever start in an away game against Manchester City in the Premier League.
The young starlet is now looking to cement his place in the starting eleven, and hopes that he can catch the eye of manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew. Last month, Shola Ameobi had praised his younger brother and was confident that he would go on to surpass his achievements
with the club and become an integral part of the team.
Ameobi is looking forward to the game against Club Brugge, and highlighted the importance of European football returning to Tyneside. Speaking to reporters, he said:
“Newcastle having European football is a big plus for us young kids trying to push through. It gives us opportunities to try and play, which is great, really.”
“Hopefully I can impress in these games and show the manager that I’m ready to step up. It’s great to hear Shola saying I could beat what he has achieved and say nice things about me.  It’s all about hard work, and I’m trying to work on that at the moment.”
“If I get that right, the ability will shine through.”
