Sammy Carlson braces himself for his next Winter X appearance
The much awaited mega event of winter sports is here and this time Sammy Carlson is hoping to go all the way. The 22-year-old pro skier is all set to stun the judges with his out of this world performance in SlopeStyle, Big Air and Superpipe. With some new
tricks and ideas in his mind, he intends to put up a thrilling show for the media that would be providing non-stop coverage to them.
Carlson has already made 5 Winter X appearances since 2006. He won his first silver in the slopestyle competition during the 2007 games, and managed to repeat the feat 2 years later, in 2009. 2010 was not a complete disappointment either as he managed to
once again get on the podium, this time by grabbing the bronze.
The shaggy-haired veteran is expecting the same level of competition as last year. Aware of the fact that he would be facing some of the most sensational skiers in an intense battle for the top slot, he believes it to be anybody’s game.
Unfazed by the ingenious athletes waiting to unleash some extraordinary stuff on the day of the showdown, Carlson is simply concentrating on his own thing and not letting anything distract him. He has got his run in his mind that would be representing his
style of skiing, and he plans on sticking to it.
The Oregon native has added some new tricks to his arsenal just for the upcoming event. He would be poking a few grabs in his rotations, but what we will have to wait a little longer to find out is just what exactly those tricks look like after they become
a reality. The Slopestyle pro is hoping to impress the judges with his artistic tricks.
The ace is not specifically thinking about the gold. It is quite natural to be hoping for the win but it all depends on the jumps and whether they would allow him to execute everything that he has planned in his head. He just aims to do well and it would
not be any less satisfying if he managed to find a place on the podium.
Sammy Carlson, also known by his fans as “Pasty C”, specializes in Slopestyle. Majority of his medals have been won in this discipline. A super style rider, he manages to separate himself from others by possessing the ability to hold his grabs longer and
throwing in pokes. He is just as masterful at rails and jumps as he is in Slopestyle. His rise to stardom speaks of his remarkable skills and potential. Highlighting the significance of skiing in his life, Carlson stated,
“It’s made my dreams all become a reality and made me better person because I’ve met so many different people along the way I’ve learned how to relate to pretty much anyone out there and appreciate my life.”
The restless young gun has already starred in film segments by Teton Gravity and Poor Boyz Production, something that has affected his contest style and direction. Just riding the different terrains has helped him to enhance his craft and distinguish himself
from other skiers.
Sammy Carlson is looking forward to having a lot of fun at the upcoming X Games and exposing the world to some sensational runs. Experiencing the thrill and excitement of the ESPN-hosted competition and finding himself right in the middle of it is something
that every extreme sport athlete dreams about. The only thing better than participating in such an event, is to walk out of it as a winner.
