Sammy upbeat about West Indies’ chances in the T20 series – Cricket News Update
West Indies skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 is positive about his team’s prospects in the two-match T20 series against Australia starting at Gros Islet tonight, March 27, 2012, however, he has urged the players to quickly adapt to the change
in format.
West Indies come into the series at the back of a drawn five-match One Day International series, with one match tied. Sammy said that the effort to go 2-1 up in One-Day series, before Australia won the last ODI to level it 2-2,
has boosted the morale of the Caribbean side.
"These matches will give us a gauge as to where we are. The belief is there," said Sammy while speaking to the media reporters ahead of the first T20.
Sammy said that the performance of the Windies players, with bat, ball and in the field, has proven that they are a much improved side and getting stronger with every single day passing.
"It was clear during the last two weeks. We are getting stronger,” said the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 pacer. “We have good batting with guys in the middle and lower order who can clear the boundaries. We also have a good bowling attack, and as
a team we have bought into what is required," he added further.

Replying to a question regarding the altered Windies squad, Sammy said that their prime objective is to play the right mix of players in every format of the game.
The second T20 of the series will be played at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown on March 30. The two-match T20 series will be followed by a three-match Test series against Australia, starting at the same Bridgetown venue on April
7.
