Samoa puts together strong line-up for final Rugby World Cup Pool match
Samoa has featured a strong side for their upcoming match of global tournament to be played against South Africa on September 30, in North Harbour Stadium, Auckland. Samoa has won two matches after three outgoings in the ongoing world showpiece and is in
good position to make their first ever appearance in the quarter-final stages of the event if they manage to overcome the defending champions. Their head coach, Titimaea Tafua, unveiled his 22-member squad on September 28 and included the veteran duo consisting
of Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu and David Lemi in the starting line ups of Samoa.
Both seasoned campaigners will be given the starting role for the very first time. Sapolu has marked his presence in the previous matches as a reserve player whereas Lemi has yet to enter the field for his team. Sapolu comes in the place of Seilala Mapusua
and Lemi will be taking the place of Sailosi Tagicakibau for this highly anticipated match.
Both the incoming players have plenty of experience under their belts as they were the part of Samoan side that played Rugby World Cup 2007. Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu has represented his national side in 17 matches including an all round performance in the
last global event.
The other starting player for Samoa, David Lemi, is veteran in the squad and made his international debut in 2004 and has earned 24 test caps for his team. The 29-year-old winger has also played for London Wasps and Bristol Rugby in his long career.
