Bhutan won the toss and elected to bat first, but their batsmen were unable to settle in at the crease as Samoa launched an intense bowling attack, with all 6 bowlers managing to pick up at least one wicket, while Naa Vaasili (10-0-27-3) claimed 3 and Tiafala
Alatasi (8.4-0-32-2) and Ian West (6-2-9-2) picked up two each.

in the 6th over, dislodged by Faasao Mulivai.
The next duo up to bat were Sanjeevan Gurung (9) and Sonam Tobgay (31), and their combined efforts got the team total up to 29, after which Vaasili struck once again, dismissing both Gurung and skipper Jigme Singye (0) in the 13th over.
Wicketkeeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pradhan-c82439, and Dilip Subba all managed meagre contributions of 4 runs each, while Barun Wakhley scored just 2. The only highlight of the innings was a 9th-wicket 46-run stand between Phuntsho Wangdi (33)
and Lobzang Yonten (20*). However, their efforts alone were not enough to enable the team to post a sizeable total, and Bhutan eventually finished, all out, at 129 by the 47th over.
The target posed no trouble for Samoa, and the team managed to reach 130 at the expense of just 4 wickets, within 26 overs.
The top order was disposed of by Dilip Subba (10-0-36-2), who broke up the 35-run opening stand between Sean Cotter (26) and Geoff Clarke (9) in the 6th over, to send the former packing. Skipper Benjamin Mailata (1) was the next to go, trapped
lbw by Dilip Subba, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 was dismissed via run out in the 14th over, leaving his team at 52 for 3.
From there onwards, Daniel Burgess (19*) drove the team’s innings forward, setting up a 67-run stand with wicketkeeper batsman Taitoe Kaisala (who top-scored with 49 before being dismissed by Wakhley in the 25th over), and following it up with
an unbeaten 11-run partnership with Mulivai (11*), which got Samoa safely over the finish line, with 6 wickets and 149 balls remaining.
