Sampdoria ace Antonio Cassano in dispute with club president Riccardo Garrone
According to the latest media reports, Sampdoria ace Antonio Cassano has fallen out with the club president Riccardo Garrone.
Media reports that the president was seen leaving the club headquarters in a fiery mood. The president left frowning after a lengthy meeting in the locker room with Antonio Cassano and the rest of Sampdoria squad. The purpose of such a team meeting is still
unknown but reports indicate that an altercation occurred between Sampdoria 99 and the president. Italian media believes Cassano will now be heavily fined by the club.
It is not the first time Cassano has fallen out with authorities. The talented playmaker has a lengthy history of such antics. Following his transfer to AS Roma in year 2001, Antonio Cassano made a huge impact on Serie A playing alongside Francesco Totti.
However, the player fell out with the club over a petty wage issue and left for the riches of Real Madrid.
At Bernabeau, the player drew media attention for all the wrong reasons. Under Fabio Capello, Il Talentino de Bari was frequently left out of the first team because of his disciplinary issue. The player would turn up late for trainings and publicly criticised
Capello on numerous occasions. His temperament issues coupled with poor fitness resulted in the player being offloaded to Sampdoria for cheap.
Cassano found his feet in Genoa and put his career back on track with some truly inspired performances. Since 2008, Cassano has scored 25 league goals for Il Doria in 74 appearances while assisting in a hatful. In fact, it was the sublime form of the troubled
star that won Sampdoria a fourth placed finish last season.
His form over last two years has won him many admirers in Peninsula with Juventus being heavily linked. Bianconeri are in desperate need of a left sided midfielder and Sampdoria 99 perfectly fits the bill perfectly. In the wake of recent events, the transfer
rumours will only grow stronger until a resolution is achieved between Cassano and the president.
