The Samp are working actively to get hold of the striker that is apparently unwanted by AC Milan and Catania, and could be up for a scoop from the club.
Sampdoria are doing all they can to acquire the services of Maxi Lopez for the upcoming season, who seem to have been deserted by his owners as well as his loanee.
The striker spent the last season on loan to AC Milan, and the Rossoneri have decided against signing the player on permanent basis.
Moreover, the attacker has also burned his bridges with Catania, and is up for grab in the summer transfer window.
Lopez’s agent Andrea D’Amico revealed that Sampdoria are in the contention of his client, and have shown a lot of willingness to sign the striker.
The attacker’s representative was adamant that the desire to strike a relationship with the Samp is mutual, and stated that he hopes to take some concrete steps towards the signature in the near future.
While talking to the press, D’Amico said:
“Sampdoria are working hard and very seriously on signing Lopez. I think the deal with soon assume a more definitive outcome. The boy has shown a willingness to go to Sampdoria.”
Maxi Lopez has also been linked with interests from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 as well as Torino, but Sampdoria are highly regarded as the favourites to land the striker due to their serious interest in the player.
Moreover, the newly appointed coach at the Samp, Ciro Ferrara, has also been rumoured to be interested in acquiring the services of Novara’s Marco Rigoni.
D’Amico is also the representative of the central midfielder, and was asked about the future of his other client.
Rigoni’s representative branded his client as the best midfielder in Serie, A owing to his 11 goals in the last season, and added that the playmaker would love to play for a club like Sampdoria.
“This year he was the best midfielder in Serie A and scored 11 goals. For Rigoni it would be a dream to play for Sampdoria.”
Lopez and Rigoni will be big boost to the Samp squad, however, no transfer fee has been decided for both the players as yet.
