  1. Good question considering you're looking at only Wimbledon, he he.

I think you're a little premature in asking because if Federer wins a sixth straight title then he's without question the better of the two.

Right now as it stands it's hard to determine because Federer won two of his titles in straight sets, one of them however had two tie breaks against a rather weak player in Philippoussis.

I'd say his third consecutive title as it stands now ( we don't know what will happen Sunday ) won in 2005 against Roddick in straight sets was his highest peak.

In comparison, Sampras won 3 of his titles in straight sets, one of them being a very close two tiebreak match against Goran Ivanišević.

It's hard to choose when his highpoint was, that year against Goran in 94 when he won his 2nd in a row, or 99 when he beat Agassi an arguably better all around player ( but not necessarily on grass over Goran ) in more convincing fasion.

I'd still say Federer wins in a thrilling 5 set match with 4 tie breaks. Winning 2.

  2. it's easy to say federer, but i would have to lean slightly towards pete sampras only because the two have played a few times since pete retired and the matches were all VERY close. Imagine if pete was at his prime!?!

  3. Federer !

  4. federer

  5. Sampras is a better player on grass than Federer
