  1. not my type of car but whatever floats your boat some peopole find them cute but not me (sry)

Any way they did a road test in motortrend it got good reviews but one of the tests was to see if girls would laugh at you as you drove by and the reviewer said a couple did but the reviewer was also like 6'6 tall so.

As for the person above yes they don't get as much mpg as you would expect like 40ish because the engine is so small peole are used to faster more powerfull cars and they are maxing out the engine actually just to keep up with traffic you have to have the pedal to the metal which isn't helping gas mileage at all.

  2. I'm not sure what a car of ten is, and I haven't actually driven a Smart car, but I've researched them and talked to someone who has.   Here's my take...

The Smart cars are cool in their weird way.  You'll definitely be noticed driving one.  They've been sold in foreign countries for years and have a reputation of being fairly reliable.  They're also pretty easy on gas--you can get 45 mpg+ if you drive gently, and they just did great in crash tests, too.  They're also really easy to park and handle very nicely on crowded, narrow city streets.  You can park 3 of them sideways in one regular sized parking space!

The downsides to them are that they're REALLY small.  It's basically just a 2 seater go-kart that's street legal, so there's almost no space to store groceries, luggage, or more than 1 passenger.  These cars were designed for the crowded, narrow streets of Europe that were there before cars existed.  They were never really meant for American highways.  If you drive aggressively or like to cruise on the highway at 80 mph your gas mileage will only be in the low 30s.  Also, even though they did well in crash tests, they might not be as safe as is claimed because they're so small.  If you hit something in one of these little cars when you're driving fast, you're going to bounce off it like a pinball and maybe into something else.

  3. I read an article on them that said they're not smart at all. They get the same gas MPG as the average car would.

I think that might be it.

  4. I assume you're talking about the 2-door, 2-seater Fortwo.

    I'd give it a 3.5.

To me, the worst thing about 'em is speed and acceleration. 0-60 in 14.4 seconds and top speed of 90mph.

If you have a family, spend your money on Smart's bigger model, the Forfour, or get a car from another brand. I sugest the Honda Fit, Volkswagen Golf, and Toyota Yaris. All have 4 seats, 4 doors, better cargo capacity, and I'm pretty sure that they have more cupholders.
