Question:

Sams vs. Costco?

I used to have a Sams card but we moved to Texas and I need to renew. Is Costco really just like Sams? I am looking for who has the cheaper prices and maybe if possible not as extreme in the bulk department. Example I could get jeans or dockers at Sams for under $20 sometimes. Now looking at the website Costco has jeans fancy name brands in the $100's range. Is it a more expensive store in that sense? I did notice they don't sell Pampers brand diapers on line is that true for in the store? Groceries I want fresh, I noticed when I went to Sams I stayed away from fruit because it was old. What do you think? Thanks

  1. Well, i've been to both and had a membership at both. Recently I canceled Costco- I've just found much better bargains in Sam's and I also find it's much easier to navigate. Now, as far as web offers and deals? Costco has alot more to offer (selection wise) online only. But, as far as in store prices and items? I always find what I need at Sam's! To me, it's the better choice :)

  2. costco has a really good return policy. for example if you buy a plasma tv from them today, you can return it 5 years down the road and get full credit or your money back to get a new / updated one....

  3. i think costco is better. i have only been to sams a few times but i think costco has  a better selection. The food is always fresh and the prices are really good. the one i go to has clothes that i like to buy at good prices and every once in a while they will have Coach purses and other name brand purses.

  4. Costco has better quality foods, fruits, and everything. Their pants are under good prices as well.  One thing no one seems to realize is that what's on costco.com is NOT normally in stores, and what's in the stores is NOT normally what's online. That was costco's can have more merchandise. Go with costco, if at any time you don't like your membership you can have it reimbursed no matter what and no hassle or anything like that. Just come in, say you aren't happy...etc. But no one has yet to do this. People who are members of costco are previously sams members who came to costco. Trust me on this, take the chance. It's more per year to pay for membership, but you get better quality things. And costco give out coupons to use here and there as well that save you a lot.
