Samsung 220wm monitor brightness and contrast...

Question

I am unable to adjust the brightness and contrast on my monitor. I press the appropriate button on the frame, but I can't place the cursor on the drop down window. The cursor seems to slide under the window, rather than reaching the items within the window. I received the monitor for Christmas, but there was no manual with it. What can I do?
