I realize all TVs probably have a 'new TV' smell, that is likely some sort of toxic chemical off-gassing (I know they have flame retardants in them!), but I have never had a TV smell so strong! Not so much when it's not on, but when it's running, even for a short period, it smells. It's not a burning smell, but basically I'll call it a 'new TV' smell, but so strong it's on the verge of making you feel sick. We have the TV in our bedroom and even the bathroom and hall smell when it's running. I'm considering returning it due to this. I've had it almost 2 weeks and the smell isn't getting better. I've even tried leaving it run all day (yesterday) with the windows cracked and that didn't help. I LOVE the TV otherwise - this is a real bummer to me :(Extremely toxic smell, have to have a fan on in the room. We have been ex[eriencing headaches and feeling sick. Sent TV to electrician, he can't find a problem, just said it has a 'new' TV smell. Have spoken to someone at place of purchase and we are returning it for full replacement.
