Thanks for putting the model number up which helps a lot.

Both series are from last year.  The newer Sony's are the KBR series and the newer Samsung's are the 6 or 7 series.

I've been researching TV's for the past 3 months and this morning, I purchased a Samsung LN46A650.

If you must, pick up the Sony.  But if you save up just a little more, upgrade and get the Samsung 5 series, which are relatively inexpensive at the moment.
