Samsung DVD Camcorder SC-DX103 stops

Samsung DVD Camcorder SC-DX103 stops recording and "disc error" message appears. Happened twice with 2 different discs. Once this happens I am unable to retrieve the previously recorded data,finalize it so it can be played on my DVD player or do anything. Others on line have detailed the exact same problem and total non caring attitude encountered by Samsung customer service. Is there any data recovery software or physical shop/store/business that can retrieve my previously recorded pictures?
