Samsung HD conversion DVD player: 1080i through component cables?

i just bought the samsung HD Conversion DVD Player model "DVD-1080P8"

i have a an old tv that is only capable of displaying either 480i or p or 1080i and only has component inputs (no HDMI).

is there a way that i can get 1080i with this setup??

No, you need a protected path (ie. digital with content protection) in order to scale your DVD's beyond 480p. Such are the rules of the DVD Forum, the group responsible for creating the DVD standard.
