Samsung HDTV LCD 42 inch Vertical Line Problem?

Half the screen has vertical lines going through it from top to bottom, i reset all the menu settings, and try switching in and out of shop mode but nothing seems to work. I switched between sources and they are still there. Has anyone else had this problem or know if this means the TV is broken or will I be able to fix it.

its called pillaring. the lower end of samsungs tv's have had this problem, not often, but it happens. so you just ended up with a bad roll of the dice. no big deal, if its been within 30 days then you can return it to the store. if its within a year then you have to call samsung and theyll fix it. if its been over a year since you bought it and you didnt buy an extended warranty......well then your screwed. its going to cost houndreds of dollars to get fixed. good luck!
