Samsung LN40A650 or Sony Bravia KDL 40Z4100?

Both of those should support 24p.  We've got the LN46A650, and preferred that over the Bravia XBR models.

I'd go with the Samsung.  If you'd already budgeted enough for the Sony, either save the difference, or use the extra budget to get yourself a nice Blu-Ray player (we love our Sony BDP-S350).
