Samsung Series 6 TV - cannot get TV to go through... I have bought the new Series 6 40" samsung

Question

I have bought the new Series 6 40" samsung with the Samsung HT-Z310R. I can get the home cinema to work when I play a DVD but on TV the sound is only coming from the TV speaker and not the HT speakers. When I go into the menu to select or change Sound, half of the menu's are not highlighted so I can't even change the setup. Can you help
