Samsung Video Format (A736)?

Hey just bought a samsung a736 with a 2gig chip and want to put movies on it. I have a movie in AVI format but the phone will not play it because the "file format is not supported", can anyone tell me what format it has to be in and a good tool to convert from avi to that format? Thank you very much in advance
