Samsung vs. Panasonic?

Ok, so I'm looking for a new tv. I have it limited down to 4 tvs. 3 of them are panasonic and 1 is samsung. I plan on using these tvs for gaming.

The first tv is very highly rated. Most say it is one of the best in the market.

I really like this t.v. but the problem is that it is out of stock all around my area, and I don't know how long this sale lasts. Best Buy charges 2500$ for that tv.

My next choice is between

and

I like these tvs too, but I'm not sure if they meet up to the standard of the first tv. They were made later on so you think they would be just as good. Do these tv's live up to its predecessor?

Lastly, is the samsung I have been looking at.

It looks nice, its big, and its cheap compared to others. What am I missing here? Would this be bad for gaming?

Answers to these questions would be great!

Thanks!

  1. My recommendation is...

    NONE of the above!

Why?  Because you state you are going to use if for gaming.  Gaming usually means that some images do not move and stay in one place all the time.  Although plasma sets are better than ever at burn in, it is still a problem and if you have extended gaming session I am certain you will notice burnt in areas on your screen.  In my (older) 42" Panasonic plasma  set, I noticed the ABC logo had temporarily burnt in to the corner of my screen and this was just by watching the Indy 500 auto race - only a few hours.

For a TV that is going to be used for gaming I would seriously recommend an LCD set.

  2. if you are going to game then i would not get a plasma, like CRTs plasmas can eventually have images burned into them due to the gas within the tv. an LCD is best gor gaming.

  3. I THINK THAT SAMSUNG IS LITTLE BIT BETTER THAN PANASONIC  BCUSE  OF ITS BETTER SERVICE .THERE ARE MANY SERVICE CENTERS OF SAMSUNG AS COMPARED TO PANASONIC.

  4. Get the TV you like.  Circuit City will give you a raincheck on the price, or, better yet, Best Buy will match the price.
