SamsungBDP1000 blu-ray player

Have bought 2 blu-ray discs- Close encounters and Enchanted(disney) and neither will play after the opening titles.Have searched to upgrade soft/firmware and see I need to burn the info onto disc to upgrade,Any other alternative way? Belinda
