Samuel Eto’o rejects Russian outfit but move to Manchester City still on cards – Serie A news
Inter Milan star striker, Samuel Eto’o, has confirmed that he rejected an 80 million Euros move to the Russian Premier League outfit, Anzhi Makhachkala. However, the attacker is keen on making a move to Manchester City as he wishes to play in the UEFA Champions
League and win the title.
The Russian top division outfit submitted a record breaking transfer fee for the Cameroonian hitman, but the ambition of playing in the most prestigious league of Europe forced Eto’o to stay at San Siro. Although the Russians were offering 20 million Euros
in annual salary, Eto’o kept his decision final and turned down the lucrative offer.
While talking to the media recently, the 30-year-old said:
“I turned it down because the Russians aren’t playing in the Champions League and my objective is to win that trophy again.”
Now that Eto’o has revealed that he is keen on staying in the side that plays in the Champions League, a move to Manchester City might still materialize. The Nerazzurri are looking to lure the want-away City Captain, Carlos Tevez, and the Cameroonian might
be used as a bait to acquire the Argentinean international. For their part, City have also shown interest in the former Barcelona player.
