Former Bayern Munich defender Samuel Kuffour has lauded Anthony Annan for parting ways with Schalke this summer. Annan is now a part of the Dutch Eredivisie side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitesse-c40905 after joining on a year-long loan.
The midfielder wasn’t a first team regular at Veltins Arena and therefore preferred moving out of the club. The Ghana international reckons that his talent was getting wasted in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and lack of opportunities resulted in him getting snubbed from the country’s
national side.
Annan has already insisted on making a comeback by putting in some memorable performances during his Dutch journey. The player was grateful towards the Vitesse officials for acknowledging his talent and providing him with an opportunity to prove his worth.
The midfielder also vowed to respond perfectly to the belief shown in his abilities by the Vitas officials.

He urged him to exhibit his true potential in Eredivisie in order to win back the trust of his national team manager. The former defender repeatedly kept on encouraging the 25-year-old
midfielder by lauding his skills and determination to achieve something in his career.
While talking to a local news channel, Kuffour added, “I think it’s a good move for him so that he can enjoy regular playing time. He (Annan) has not started in Ghana’s two previous matches and so it was important for him to go to a place where he can be
guaranteed first team action. With Essien out, we need the likes of him to fill the void and the way to do that is to play week in and week out.”
Kuffour represented Bayern Munich for 12 years (1993-2005) and made 175 league appearances during his stay at the club. The player bagged seven goals in return. He made 59 international appearances for Ghana during his 13-year international career, netting
thrice from 59 caps.
Annan joined Schalke in 2011 and managed to make nine appearances for the club. The midfielder failed to impress the Veltins Arena officials during his short stay before being loaned out to Vitesse during this summer.
