On Sunday night at the Staples Center, the San Antonio Silver Stars snapped their four game losing streak by defeating Los Angeles Sparks 91-71, ending LA`s run of going 7 games without a defeat at home to start the season.
The win required a double digit performance from four of San Antonio players. Sophia Young shot the ball 7 of 11 from the field and made 6 out of 8 free throws to lead her team`s effort with 20 points to go along with 9 rebounds.
“L.A's a great team,'' Young said.” “(But) our focus and mentality was to be aggressive from the start. I thought we competed. I thought we were physical.''

San Antonio continued their momentum in the second quarter and raced out with 7-2 burst but a 10-0 response from the Sparks cut their lead down to only 1 at the 4:35 mark. The remaining time in the first half the Silver Stars regain
some footing and courtesy of a 6-2 run, they closed out the period at 42-36.
A 12-8 phase to start the third quarter allowed San Antonio to prolong their advantage into double figures with just a tad above 5 minutes remaining in the frame. LA tried their best to make a comeback into the game, however with
San Antonio answering back on almost on every possession, the hosts weren`t able to do so.
It took almost 7 and half minutes for the Silver Stars to stretch their advantage above 20 and it was never a contest after that. The visitors continued to score at will throughout the remaining time and took this one by an ample
margin of 20 points.
