On Friday night, San Antonio Silver Stars set a new franchise record by extending their winning streak to nine games with a 91-70 win over Atlanta Dream at the AT&T Center.
By getting the victory, San Antonio also ensured their best ever start in franchise history after 18 games played.
Jia Perkins came off the bench to be the leading scorer for Silver Stars as she chipped in a tied game high of 21 points with 18 of them coming from three point land.
“(Perkins) was amazing tonight,'' Dan Hughes (San Antonio coach) said. ``She's had a great week for us. She's just absolutely a sparkplug for us coming off the bench.''
Becky Hammon also had an excellent game with 15 points while Sophia Young, Danielle Robinson and Shenice Johnson each managed their way to 12 points.
On a completely dominating night, the San Antonio bench players out scored Atlanta’s reserves 44-3, a difference which left Johnson wowed.
“Wow”, Johnson said. ``It just goes back to us being a complete team. Our confidence is really, really high. We know that from players one to 11, every time we come off the bench, we're just really, really confident. Coach instils
that into us.''
Sancho Lyttle tried her best to keep Atlanta in the game with 21 points. Tiffany Hayes and Armintie Price both managed to muster15 points, but their best of efforts were not enough.

by outscoring San Antonio 11-7 and taking a 26-22 lead.
However, San Antonio came out very strongly in the second quarter. They opened the frame with an 11-4 run and continued to dominate the rest of the way. A 9-3 spurt to close out the first half enabled the Silver Stars to take a
42-37 lead into the interval.
Atlanta tried to make their way back in the second half as they opened the third quarter with a 6-2 burst but an 8- 3 response saw things return San Antonio’s way. The domination from San Antonio continued for the remaining time
in the period, highlighted by an 8-0 burst to close it.
Silver Stars continued to roll in the last 10 minutes and opened up with a 10-5 burst. San Antonio never took their foot off the pedal and put an exclamation mark on the game with seven unanswered points.
