San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magic - NBA teams that are on the verge of a collapse – NBA Special

The San Antonio Spurs are one of the teams who need to bring about some change in their roaster which shall help them in reviving their lost spark. The former National Basketball Association champions were last seen winning a NBA
championship back in 2007. Since then, they have not made any appearance in the finals at all.
Why so?
The team is clearly losing its grasp and the Spurs dynasty is somehow coming to an end. With superstars like Tim Duncan and NBA All-Star Manu Ginobili, the tem must be seen soaring higher than ever and moving forward. But, in reality,
the team has actually started lacking in all aspects and ended up losing to the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the 2011 Playoffs, dropping out of the run.
San Antonio Spurs was never the sort of team to be losing to teams like the Grizzlies and the Oklahoma Thunders but the Spurs have resorted to that much, recently. It surely needs some new talents in the field. Tim Duncan has been
in the business for the past 14 years and it does not seem like he can lead the team to another finals appearance on his own. Antonio McDyess, Tony Parker, Richard Jefferson, Manu Ginobili are all players who are aging and seriously need support from youngster
alongside them on the court to actually bring speed and agility every champion team requires in their game.
Tony Parker is one option the Spurs could consider trading but again, after having traded George Hill, the Spurs will be left with no attractive guard who they can rely on.
No doubt the Spurs are still at the moment able to take over the coming season and bag many games but the issue is they are declining. They need some devoted young talent who they can have around with them for a couple of seasons
and eventually train him so he can take the lead in the years to come. For that, they need to make a move now and search for their next star.
Another team also on the same path on its way down is the Orlando Magic. Despite having Dwight Howard – best forward of the era – on their roster, the team is still struggling and going low on stats day by day. After their last
appearance in the 2009 finals, the Magic team’s ‘magic’ seems to have ceased working. In the latest playoffs, they were defeated out of the run in the first round by the Atlanta Hawks. General Manager Otis Smith must make a move and consider some serious trades.
Howard has not said anything about his future after he enters the free agency next season but surely he does need some support alongside him on the court. If the team management is intending to re-sign Howard, they might as well
sign another star player along with Howard to make things better. Currently, Howard is bearing the entire team’s pressure alone. He needs someone to share that pressure with. Otherwise, Howard seems of no use to the Magic if they are aiming for the top ranks
and it would be in the struggling player’s favour too to just let him leave.
