Oklahoma City Thunder continue to dominate; Lead 78-60 against San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals
In the third quarter, Oklahoma City Thunder continued to build their lead against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. They were leading by as much as 22 points at one point in the period, however due
to a 5 of 6 shooting performance from Stephen Jackson which included three triples; the Spurs inched back a bit and were trailing by 60-78 before going into the fourth quarter.
The main difference in the ball game was Thabo Sefolosha`s performance. The shooting guard managed 12 points till the third, but more importantly he hauled down 5 rebounds and made 5 steals.
Another key contributor on the defensive end was Russell Westbrook. The hustling point guard had 8 points, 2 blocks and 7 assists in the game after three.
Kevin Durant chipped in with 6 points in the period, taking his total to 22 points on an 8 of 17 shooting performance to go along with 4 assists and 5 blocks. James Harden was a tad silent in the frame and had just 11 points by
its end.
The entire Oklahoma team brought down 36 rebounds, 11 of which have come on the offensive end. They also had 11 steals and 9 blocked shots in the game. Along with the defence, the OKC offense also turned up the heat. Thunder shot
44.1% from the field in the first 36 minutes and went 13-13 from the free throw line.
From the Spurs side, Tony Parker was leading the way with 16 points and Tim Duncan had 11 points. However the contribution from the remaining three Spurs starters was only a combined total of 6 points.
Stephen Jackson led the way for the Spurs bench with 13 points in the game so far. Manu Ginobili had a quite game as he as only attempted 4 field goals and was successful on 1 of them.
The important factor in the Spurs trailing massively was their conversion rate – a meagre 38.9 percent.
