San Antonio Spurs crush Los Angeles Clippers 116-90: NBA Recap
It was a matchup between two of the best point guards in the league on Thursday night; Tony Parker, Chris Paul. Parker dominated the game tonight to lead San Antonio Spurs to an easy 116-90 win over Los Angeles Clippers.
Parker was is in grueling form these days, which many believe to be the very best of his 12 year old career. He scored 31 points and dished out 7 assists for the visiting side while Daniel Green had points and 7 dimes for the night.
Los Angeles Lakers were led by Matt Barnes with 18 points, Blake Griffin had 17 points, while Chris Paul had a forgetful game as he finished off with 4 points going 1 of 6 from the floor.
Spurs equaled their season high shooting percentage of 58.9 percent as they improved to 6-1 on their season long 9 game long road trip. They have one of the best league records on the road and currently boasts the league high .687
percentage.
Very few guards look better on the court these days. He is averaging 26.6 points, 9.4 assists, and is shooting better than any other shooter out there (58.9 percent) in his last 10 games. Parker looked like a man who had to prove
something tonight as he came out on the court with passion and energy and severely outplayed Paul as he single handedly carried his team to the victory.
"Tony's been a huge part of us playing that well. He's been the one who is most consistent," said Tim Duncan, who had nine points. "Everything kind of clicked together. We made a lot of shots. They just couldn't get their footing."
It was a one sided game from the start as the Clippers never led the entire game. Clippers were slow to get things going and Spurs took full advantage of it to outscore the Clippers 34-21 in the first quarter.
Clippers showed an improved performance in the second period as kept the Spurs to only 24 points in the quarter, but could only manage 22 points themselves.
Spurs kept piling up the lead and went on for an easy win in the end as the Clippers gave up early.
