San Antonio Spurs roll onto a 5 game winning streak after edging Phoenix Suns 107-100: NBA Recap
On Tuesday night, San Antonio Spurs rolled on to a 5 game winning streak after decimating Phoenix Suns, 107-100  at the US Airways Center. The trio of Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan combined to deliver yet another defeat
for the Suns.
Tim Duncan tallied a team high 26 points to go with 11 boards, scoring 17 of those in the 1st half, while Parker netted 24 and dished out 7 assists.  Kawhi Loenard had 14 and Manu Ginobili chipped in with 13, Matt Bonner
came up with 10 points.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was happy with the performance of big three;
"I think they play within the system and trust each other enough it comes out pretty good for them," Popovich said, "most of the time."
Shannon Brown had a career night as he tallied a game high 32 points for Suns. He had mixed feelings after the game.
"I didn't know I was going to start until we were doing our pregame (meeting) and they said Grant wasn't going to go," Brown said, "so I had to prepare myself mentally. I just wanted to come out, play hard, play within the flow
of what's going on and I wish we could have come out with a win."
Marcin Gortat collected a double-double scoring 21 points with 14 boards. Suns talisman Steve Nash poured in 16 and Sebastian Telfair chipped in with 11 points as Phoenix suffered their 2nd home loss in 10 games since
the All-Star Weekend.
The game remained closely contested in the opening frame and was tied at 18 each with 04:38 in hand. Brown netted one from down town and created some breathing space 21-18 for Suns, but the Spurs changed hands, 29-23, with an 11-2
spurt. Phoenix however trimmed that down to 28-29 with a 5-nothing spurt at the end of quarter.
San Antonio widened the gap to 42-38 early into the 2nd and then reeled off a 10-5 run for a 52-43 lead. The Spurs led through the rest of the segment and the game entered into the halftime with Spurs ahead by 62-57.
Suns opened the 3rd quarter with a 12-4 run and converted theur five point deficit into a lead at 69-64. They Spurs however responded and with 1:35 remaining, they came within one, 81-80, before reclaiming a slender
84-83 advantage after three.
San Antonio then blasted their way into the decisive frame with a 17-6 spurt leaving the Suns at 89-101 midway through the frame. The hosts tried to shave off the lead with a 9-2 run, clawing off the deficit to 103-98 with only
33.9 clicks left in hand, but by then it was too late.
