  1. You will have to live in the state of tx for at least 1 year to qualify for in state tuition. In general the base pay is lower than in other states. There is also the situation most times that you can be fired at any time for almost any reason. Most likely you will berequested to sign some statement to that affect when and if you get a job here. In general the economy is very good compared to other states. For example houses are still being built here where in other states there is a  halt in the building of new homes due to the economy. You are very likely to run into some very friendly folks that will try to steal as much from you or dupe you out of your possessions as much as they possibly can before you never see them again. The weather is basically Great! It is very good if you can or are willing to learn to speak spanish. People can be very "cliquish" so it may feel hard to "fit in" at first. Most people are under educated. These are some true facts but honestly I've lived here 20 plus years now. Met some Really nice people, finished school and I am living very well. Just maintain your personal integrity, take nothing for granted, remember nothing is ever "free", be inspired by your personal achievements and save as much money as you can for retirement. LOL But you are young, so that is just a good idea, you will thank me for reminding you to do later although you may never know me. Take care, Enjoy TX, there is some of every climate in this state. Your life will be what you make of  it. My Best Regards!
