  1. San Antonio Missions National Historic Park...a must see.

  2. Hi ,

I live on the river walk and the best hotels along the river are..The Water Mark hotel

    Le Mansion hotel

    Drury

    Holiday Inn

There are plenty of good hotels.

Theres a great Irish bar on the river called Waxy Oconnors, the food is great and reasonably priced and the entertainment of a evening at the bar is fab.

Check the guitarist/ singers web page out www.joewamsley.com

Happy Birthday for October and have a great time.

  3. The Alamo is good. But if you take the tour watch out for the  Guard cat. She lets you know right away if you've gone into a restricted area, lol.(No video cameras,or photographic equipment allowed in the chapel.)

Across the street, you have the Post Office/Courthouse which was built in 1936. While at the Alamo, look at the Long Barracks. They used to go from their present location all the way across the street ,past the outer lobby at the Post Office and into what is now the inner lobby.

But back in the 30's the barracks had to be reduced in size to make room for Houston Street and the building. It is said that the souls of the Alamo defenders like to go into the Post Office and pass thru the metal detector and make it "click" once in a while(especially at night).

The postal employees joke that Colonel Travis and his men are always welcome to come in,but they have to leave their weapons at the door, lol.

Once in a while the metal detector will go off meaning someone tried to sneak in with their rifle or sword.

We also have the Institute of Texan Cultures in Hemisphere Plaza. This is a museum  of artifacts of all the different peoples who have come to live in what is now called Texas for the last 30,000 years.

You can take the trolley to the Blue Star Art Museum on N.Alamo Street across from the Pioneer Four Company.

  6. I actually live in San Antonio.

the hotels depend on what type of prices you are looking for.

Usually getting a hotel downtown will cost you way more.

There are several hotels close to the river walk and 6 flags.

Other attractions in San Antonio are:

    The Alamo

    Sea World

    San Antonio Zoo

    San Antonio Museum of Art

    Medina Lake/Canyon Lake (outdoorsy stuff)
