San Carlo Honda Gresini rider, Marco Simoncelli, anticipates starting the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France in the first row, after crashing in the Spanish and Portuguese rounds, respectively.
Team-mate, Hiroshi Aoyama is keeping his progress sustained through each passing round.
The Italian rider at Honda satellite team is headed towards France for the coming race weekend. Simoncelli is eager to turn his bad ends of Jerez and Estoril, into a successful race day. ‘Super Sic’ was once again able to prove his talent and improve pace,
during the post race test held after the bwin Grande Premio de Portugal.
The test was arranged for a single day on the same track where the Grand Prix took place. He was the fastest rider of the test day leading the podium finishers. His fastest pace of the day gave a clear thought to other rivals that he is not let down or hindered
by his fall in the last two events. His target is to get the first podium of his MotoGP career, at the legendry Le Mans circuit in France.
‘Super Sic’, while speaking on the French round, said, “The Estoril test on the day after the race was a good way for me to put the race behind me and go to Le Mans with a different attitude. Now I am just looking forward to putting it behind me properly.”
Aoyama’s team-mate, Simoncelli, has kept performing on a good pace through the first three events of the 2011 MotoGP season. With his effort, he is now three points down from the fourth place in the World Championship point standings.
Jorge Lorenzo is leading the season standings in the current season. The Japanese rider at San Carlo Honda Gresini team garage is continuously getting his hands on the 2011 Honda RC212V for better riding. On the other hand, he is also developing good relations
with his team which will be a solid base for his future success. He has never enjoyed a podium finish at Le Mans, but with the good last weekend race, he hopes to continue his form on the race day.
Hiroshi Aoyama, said, “I am happy with the results so far and with my position in the Championship. I have made good progress and I am adapting more and more to MotoGP thanks also to the brilliant job being done by the team and the excellent relationship
we are building.”
Aoyama gained positive results from the Estoril test and the team collected useful data for the future race. The team will enter Le Mans race, hoping to secure podium finish at the prestigious racing event.
