San Carlo Honda rider Marco Simoncelli attracts huge crowd of fans in Manchester – MotoGP news
San Carlo Honda Gresini’ Italian rider Marco Simoncelli gathered a large number of fans when he approached the Dainese store in Manchester, United Kingdom.
The riders of the MotoGP grid are going to places for visits or having their surgeries to get relief from pains left after the 2010 accidents. The gap created after the delay of the Japanese Grand Prix from April 24 to October 2, 2011 has helped the
riders to sort out their problems or get fan attention.
“It is my first time in Manchester as before today I’ve only come to England for the Grand Prix at Donington and Silverstone,” said Simoncelli.
The shining Italian rider has a nickname ‘Super Sic.’ who is sponsored by the well known legendary Italian brand of clothing, for motorcycles at his San Carlo Honda Gresini team. Since 1972, Dainese has evolved the motorcycle clothing for protection.
Many MotoGP riders have participated to bring popularity to the brand and make its name worthy for safety and protection of the riders to the present stage. The names start from Giacomo Agostini to Valentino Rossi, all the known stars of GP world.
At the present time when Simoncelli visited the store, two famous football clubs of the city were playing at Wembley. The Italian still gathered a big group of fans around him, who is also known for his prominent big curly hairs.
Simoncelli added, “It is very important for me to do events like this and every time there are always a lot of people and it’s very nice to meet the fans.”
Fans of all age were gathered at the Dainese store to praise and promote the former World Champion of 250cc class at the fans signing event. Simoncelli was also requested by a fan to sign his arm, so he could make it permanent by getting a tattoo.
The Dainese store Manager Patrick Smith was pleased to welcome the Italian rider for the occasion.
“The visit of Marco Simoncelli shows the level of commitment that Dainese has for its only store in the UK. In five years we have had some great riders visit, but this is the first time a MotoGP rider and World Champion has visited,” he said.
Simoncelli is being considered a potential contender for the MotoGP World title, with a great new 2011 RC212V, which dominated the full winter test session. The Italian was in the lead and near to winning at the Jerez Grand Prix but was hampered by
wet track conditions and was forced to return to the garage.
The next race will be bwin Grande Premio de Portugal to be held at the Estoril circuit, where Simoncelli will be in action and run for his first victory of the season and his MotoGP career.
