  1. hmmm supper bowl

but anyways yeah merrimen is out which takes the heart and soul of the defense out of the picture

they still have the cro, jammer, philips, williams, and castillio but merrimen was more than just a bruising linebacker...he is the face of the San Diego D, as well as cromartie but hes a corner lol

LT may be slowing down but thats hard to say cuz he still puts up numbers

    Rivers still sucks

No stable backup RB(sproles is not tough enough to start just in case LT goes down)

    no good FB

but they still have an awesome o-line, amazing TE, good corners, good linebackers, and good d-line

its still going to be hard playing against them but i dont think they will make it to the big one

there are better teams...jacksonville, indy, pats, steelers

  2. First off Merriman will play. Second even if youve never heard of him, Jyles Tucker is the perfect man to take his spot if he didnt play. And third, the chargers will Win the Superbowl cause im a homer and because they have the best team.

  3. The Chargers have the best and most talent in the NFL. However Norv Turner in my opinion is not the coach to take them to the big game. If Norv does not win a Super Bowl with this team he should go back to being an offensive coordinator.

  4. Yeah I think they will be at the Supper Bowl while someone else plays in the Super Bowl.

  5. Until yesterday, I thought they would.

But Merriman is out.  LT looks slower.  They lost Turner to ATL.

At least Rivers is getting better.  And Cromartie is one of best CBs in the league.

  6. Ive been saying it for a while, Chargers over Cowboys 34-20 in XLIII.

But now with this Shawne Merriman injury, which is possibly career ending, and definitley season ending, their chances arent as good. Even on a team as stacked as the Chargers, losing Merriman hurts thier pass rush a LOT. And, as you know, quarterback pressure wins championships, and you can play with anybody if youre knocking the quarterback on his butt all day.

I dont know about the Chargers chances as of now, but I think theyre still one of the top 5 teams in the NFL. Right now, Im going to say the Jaguars take thier place in the Super Bowl.

  7. Yeah...the Supper Bowl because the Patriots are gonna chew them up and spit them out

  8. Not a chance. They've got a punk Quarterback who apparently believes his own hype in Rivers, and Lamedanien Tomlinson, a Sissy Running Back who sat out his teams most important game EVER because he had an Ouchie! You add that steroid freak Merriman missing most if not all of the season and factor in that their Coach Norv Turner is one of the Worst Coaches in the History of the Game, I would say their chances are beyond slim and pretty close to none.

  9. S•U•P•E•R Bowl yes I think they can too! Patsys are gonna choke again!

  10. Turner is out. LT could go either steady or down. There isn't really any ascent for running backs at 30. I'll say this, if Merriman is out, and I think they will be, they will have to score 7 more points a game. That's how important I think he is on defense.

  11. Yes, they have a really good chance.

  12. They've had the talent and the depth chart for three-four years now to make the Super Bowl and they've gotten closer each and every year. LT is still the best back in the NFL and as the younger players develop, the team can only get better. Look for Cromartie to improve even more from his amazing last season.

If Merriman would have been able to recover before the Chargers schedule gets difficult, then I would say automatically yes. With or without Merriman, they still make it to the playoffs just due to the horrible division they are in so at least if I'm wrong, they will still make postseason. They do have one of the deepest linebacking corps in the NFL and their backups are starters on most any other team.

Also, to those who think LT has somehow magically lost ability in the course of a couple of months, for shame, I'm no Chargers fan, but it's merely common sense that he IS the best running back and perhaps even the best player in the NFL.

  13. Losing Merriman hurts their chances.
