San Diego Padres centre fielder Cameron Maybin injured with sore Achilles – MLB News
The San Diego Padres centre fielder Cameron Maybin did not play on Tuesday night as he was injured with score Achilles.
Though his injury is not serious but still the Padres management took precautionary measures and went without their five-year veteran.
“It’s nothing serious and I expect to be back in the lineup Wednesday or Thursday, It started barking a couple days ago and we decided to get it settled down so I can finish the season strong,” said Maybin recently and explained in the media about his current
health condition and the potential time it will take him to get back onto the field.
Maybin currently is playing with full thrust as his hitting average of .247 is one of the best in the league.
“Cameron and I talked earlier and I decided not to start him to help the pain subside, He’ll be back in the lineup soon,” later Padres manager Bud Black also said in the media and described some reporters about his player’s chances to play again on the next
Padres’ series.
Before missing out the Tuesday’s game, the Padres talented batter was playing quite consistently. He was hitting with .247 average along with seven homers, 43 RBIs and .312 OBP while his career hitting average of .253 is also considered one of the most consistent
in the league.
“I’m anxious to get back in and finish this season off, I’m proud of the way I battled and finally found something that works, It’s quite a good feeling knowing you are going up there with a good shot,” said Maybin.
The Padres management is hoping a quick return for Maybin. They understand that Maybin’s presence is very important for the Padres.
The Padres currently facing tough competition in the league especially the Colorado Rockies are chasing them with quick pace.
Both teams might not qualify into the post season, but their current performance will give them a positive thrust in the coming Major League Baseball season.
Padres with .477 winning percentage is sitting at fourth position in the National League West while Rockies are at fifth with .387 winning percentage.
