"That was a great start for us, The next inning, everything kind of exploded or imploded on us. We just had a number of walks tonight, which isn't like our guys. It seemed like we were dragging out there," Reds' manager Dusty Baker said of his team's performance.

Along with hitters, Padres' pitchers also performed wonderfully and gave no chance to the Reds’ dire batting which eventually proved decisive for them.
Starter Edinson Volquez pitched five innings and received five runs and six hits while he also allowed five earned runs on 3.51 ERA.
"I was trying to make better pitches [after the first inning], I know this ballpark and how the ball carries and I wanted to keep the ball down," Volquez said.
On the other hand, the Reds pitchers were hammered with big hits and literally lost the game for their team.
Mike Leake pitched 1.2 innings and allowed five runs and five hits along with five earned runs on 4.44 ERA.
