San Diego Padres lose to Texas Rangers 2-4 – MLB Recap
The San Diego Padres yet again swept away by Texas Rangers’ shattering as they lost the third consecutive time on Wednesday.
They lost 2-4 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter at Petco Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Showing no fighting spirit in-fact throughout the series, the Padres lost with bitter humiliation and now sitting at bottom in the National League West with 24-46 win loss record along with .343 winning percentage.
Padres’ entire roster did not show their natural skills and one by one, lost every game of the series.
Particularly, the Wednesday’s game was certainly a meagre effort by them. They did not play good and could not match the Rangers’ brilliance.
Failing short on third occasion, the Padres showed no commitment during the whole series. Especially their pitchers played poorly.
In last game, starter Anthony Bass pitched five innings and gave three hits which proved ineffective for the Padres as they lost by two runs’ deficit.
On the other hand, the Rangers, who are carrying a tremendous consistent winning plays, also did well in the game as well in the entire series.
Yu Darvish played a key role in his team’s win. He pitched eight innings and allowed only two runs.
"I asked the interpreter to tell the pitching coach, Mike Maddux, and Wash, I think it was somewhere around maybe after the third inning, I know my pitch count is up a little bit, but please don't base me getting taken out just on pitch count," Darvish said
through an interpreter. "
"He just couldn't find his rhythm to get the ball where he wanted to, He just kept emphasizing what he needed to do. After the second inning, when they scored those runs, he finally did it. Once he found it, he was on from there on. He just began to pound
the strike zone.” Texas manager Ron Washington said of Darvish.
Experts believe that this is a healthy sign for the Rangers as their young sensation from Japan is playing well that will also help them in the coming future.
