San Diego Padres staffers face ship drift fiasco

Recently, Major League Baseball is going through the off season. With many clubs in the American League and the National League, heading towards relaxing free time, the coaching staff and the players are looking to catch up on normal vacation life. The top
teams are involved nevertheless in free agency and the general managers are looking to reel in the big fish in the market. The San Francisco Giants may have clichéd the World Series title but they’re pursuit of glory unveiled the level of weaknesses found
in every teams’ depth. The restructuring phase in the short time available can help the clubs close the gaps in their defense and offense.
However, while the managers are looking to work on the problems in the roster, the coaches are heading over to various attractions for the holidays. San Diego Padres staff members are exemplifying the move. However a 7 day Mexican Cruise on Carnival Splendor
went horribly wrong when the engines caught fire and the entire passenger detail was left stranded for 3 days without electricity.
Jim Malone, who is the San Diego’s strength and conditioning coach, went on to say, "Everyone's experience was different. If we were on the second deck in the back of the boat, it might have been worse. We ended up having a good time. There were moments
where it (stunk), like we're supposed to be having a nice steak dinner, or going zip-lining in Puerto Vallarta. But we were safe. We were getting towed in. No one got hurt and the boat didn't sink. We made the best out of it. We were OK. We were troopers."
Spencer Dallin, who is the assistant to the Equipment Manager at the club, was also on the cruise. He was there with most of his family members and he explained the event by saying, "We were very fortunate that we were on the 10th floor and that we had balconies.
We were able to get sunlight in the room and hang out there. We had a guy across the hall from us and his room was completely dark."
Dallin then commented on food shortage as he said, "I didn't know what the sandwiches were. People were standing in line for three hours. We didn't want to do that. My grandpa can't stand that long. By the time we would go, there were pieces of bread and
cheese scattered on a plate. We had hot – dog sandwiches with some mayonnaise."
