San Francisco 49ers were underdogs before the start of the 2011 National Football League (NFL) and many teams who were defeated by the 49ers might have underestimated them, but that is not going to be the case in the upcoming season.
No one is overlooking the 49ers’ journey of reaching the National Football Conference (NFC) championship game last year and the teams are preparing hard to counter the threat posed by the 49ers.
From the 49ers’ point of view, the encouraging fact to know that the players are well aware of what they are going to face in the 2012 season.
49ers offence struggled a bit to perform last year, but they have addressed those needs by adding new players to the roster. The moves, however, are not hidden from anyone and the opponents know the changes made on the 49ers roster.
This calls for the players to be more alert and attentive and according to running back Anthony Dixon, every player realises that the opponents are going to target 49ers badly.
According to the details present on the team’s official website, Dixon shared his offseason workout experience and maintained that the players know what is awaiting them.
He also said that the offence is prepared in even better way to take on the opponents while mentioning that every game is going to be a fight for the 49ers.
When asked about the present state of the team’s offence, the running back said:
“Even more prepared. Our offence is prepared to be one of the better teams this year. We know there’s a target on us. We know we’re the hunted. We know people are out to earn their stripes against us.”
He added:
“Everybody in the (offensive meeting) room knows we have to be that much better. We can’t turn the ball over. We didn’t have that many last year, but we even need to get that down. We want to be the best and we know every game is going to be a fight. That’s
what we’re prepared for.”
Dixon has been playing with the 49ers since starting his career in 2010. He has never been able to gain the status of their regular starter.
