San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore prepares for tough challenge against Seattle Seahawks – NFL News
San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore will face a tough time on the field on Thursday against the Seattle Seahawks, who are one of the best defensive teams this season when it comes to restricting running game of opponents, and the player is upbeat
about living up to the reputation.
However, the task is not going to be easy for Gore. According to the details present on the team’s website, Gore has acknowledged that Seahawks are a great team and that his team must prepare well to beat the divisional opponent. The running back said:
“Seattle, they’re playing great ball. We want to be the top dog in the division and we know that they’re going to come in here and play their behind off. As long as we get back to being us – offence, defence, special teams – we should come out on top.”
49ers recently got their two-game winning streak snapped as defending champion New York Giants defeated them in Week 6 game. On the other hand, Seahawks won their Week 6 game against New England Patriots to extend their winning streak to two.
At present, Seahawks and 49ers are tied atop National Football Conference (NFC) West along with Arizona Cardinals and the result of Thursday’s game will certainly affect the division standings.
Unlike the last season in which 49ers were clearly ahead of other teams in the division, it is hard to predict a playoff team from NFC West at this time of the season. For 49ers, the challenge has got tougher, but Gore has embraced it quite nicely. He said:
“Everybody in our division got better. We’re all right with that. We like it like that, we like it tough. We’re tough enough to handle it.”
49ers offence has performed well this season, but during the defeat against Giants, the offence performed miserably. If the offence fails to lift up the tempo against Seahawks, 49ers might once again struggle on the field.
However, Gore is upbeat about overcoming the flaws of his team, saying that 49ers will be ready for the Seahawks. He said:
“They’re a fast defence. They move around, they show a lot of different stuff. We got to be ready for it.”
