San Francisco 49ers WR Kyle Williams wants to get back at New York Giants – NFL News
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kyle Williams seems to be the most eager player to see his team taking on the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
He has every reason to be eager because he is seeking redemption, after failing his team during last season’s National Football Conference (NFC) championship game that the Giants won to reach the Super Bowl.
Williams, who was playing as punt returner in the championship game, fumbled the ball twice, allowing Giants to first set up a go-ahead goal and later the game-winning goal.
He was dejected after that matchup as he received criticism from nearly every disappointed fan, as the 49ers had a breakout season after a long time and they deserved a shot at the Super Bowl.
However, Williams cannot change what has happened, but he can certainly prepare well for future. Giants and 49ers are scheduled to play each other in Week 6 game this Sunday and Williams is looking forward to that game. ESPN quoted him as saying:
“There's a few teams that I look forward to. Of course after what happened last year I definitely want to get back at these guys. We look at it as if they have something that we should have had. We're going to make sure we don't leave anything on the field
again."
49ers are playing really well this season. They have shown remarkable performances on offence as well as defence and Giants are certainly going to get tough time on the field against San Francisco.
Williams is hopeful that his team will win this game. The player is not feeling pressure, which is a very good sign for his team. He has said that he is going to approach this game as he approaches every other game.
Williams said:
"I'll be comfortable this week going into it. I can't wait. I'm not trying to do too much. We don't need anyone to do too much on this team. Everybody plays their role and does what they have to do. We'll be fine. We're a great team."
The game will be played on 49ers’ home field, at Candlestick Park.
