San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers wants to finish strong – NFL News
A loss against a relatively weaker opponent, St Louis Rams, has disturbed the San Francisco 49ers, who are now focused on finishing the season strongly.
With four more games left in the regular season, 49ers are atop National Football Conference (NFC) West with eight wins, three defeats and one tie.
It is not guaranteed that they will qualify for the playoffs, but they have very bright chances of doing so. However, they want to finish the regular season strongly so that they can carry the momentum into the playoffs.
According to the details present on the team’s website, 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers has stressed on the need of finishing the season strongly. He said:
“It’s very important to finish this quarter strong. We talk about fourth quarters. This is the last quarter and the teams that do good in the playoffs – around the end of November, December they kind of click, kind of get going and establish themselves into
the playoffs. That’s what we’ve got to do. Can’t come into the playoffs with losses like we did last week and not hitting on all cylinders.”
A few teams in the National Football League (NFL) representing NFC and American Football Conference (AFC) have already qualified for the playoffs and a couple of more wins can secure a playoff berth for 49ers as well.
However, the road is not going to be easy because 49ers have a few tough games to play. They will face the lowly Miami Dolphins in Week 14, while Week 15 and 16 in which they will travel to play against New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks respectively,
will be very challenge. They will play last game of the regular season against the Arizona Cardinals.
A win over St. Louis Rams in Week 13 could have given the 49ers a dominant edge over other teams of the division, but the Rams did well, especially on defence, to outclass the 49ers. Rogers shared his views on the game and said:
“We lose as a team, we win as a team. Regardless, we’ve got to try and find a way to get that ‘W’ no matter what the circumstances are.”
