San Francisco 49ers face challenging Pittsburgh Steelers – NFL Week 15 Preview
It hurts when you clinch a division title to secure a playoff spot and get defeated in the next game. The impressive San Francisco 49ers might be feeling lowly after the last week loss against Arizona Cardinals, but the National
Football Conference West division leaders are bold enough to forget the failure and prepare handsomely for a home-game as they take on Pittsburgh Steelers at the Candlestick Park in the week-15 game of the National Football League current season on Monday.
The 49ers have reached the postseason and are now eyeing the first-week bye in the playoffs. If they win the rest of their games, they will achieve their goal. The problem, however, for them is their inability to properly finish
a drive by scoring a touchdown. The offense has helped initiating many strong plays, but they have failed to master the moves in the red zone.
49ers’ tight end Delanie Walker has said that his team will try to overcome its mistake and do everything possible to finish the drives by gaining maximum points.
“We practice hard every week for the red zone,” he said. “We just get in the game and for some reason it just doesn’t fall through. Either the defence has a good scheme for us or we just don’t execute the play right. Sometimes
we shoot ourselves in the foot, so this week we got to make sure to do everything possible to get our assignments right and get the ball in the end zone.”
The Steelers are of course well aware of what to target when they take on the 49ers. They, like the 49ers, have won 10 games this season. The Steelers are leading the American Football Conference North division, but have not yet
secured a playoff spot as Baltimore Ravens from the same division have the same number of victories.
This fact makes the game a must-win for the Steelers, but they might face a little problem as the participation of their star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is doubtful in the game. Ben is an eight-year veteran who has been playing
for the Steelers since the start of his professional career in the year 2004.
In this season, Ben has played all the 13 games and completed 276 passes of 429 attempts for 3,526 yards. He has thrown 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and holds a quarterback rating of 95.6.
Ben is trying his best to recover, but he does not know whether he will make it on the big day.
“I can just tell them whether I think I can go or not and I think I can go all the time, so I’m going to do everything I can to be out there for this team,” the quarterback said.
