San Francisco 49ers gear up to face Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers in Week 1 game – NFL News
The San Francisco 49ers had one of the best defences in the National Football League (NFL) last year and they still have a sturdy defence capable of tackling opponents easily, but even a unit like 49ers faces some trouble when it comes to facing the Green
Bay Packers, particularly quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The Packers have one of the most explosives offensive units in the league and their consistency makes them even more threatening.
After winning the Super Bowl in the 2010 season, the Packers were again looking forward to securing the NFL title last year as they finished the regular season 15-1 and qualified for the playoffs as the top-seeded team. However, they lost to the New York
Giants in the divisional playoff game.
The Packers nevertheless are still considered a threatening unit and with Rodgers leading their offence anything is possible.
“(Rodgers) commands a lot out of his guys and his guys definitely go out there and lay it on the line for him,”  49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman said, according to the team’s website.
Bowman continued:
“They just do a great job with utilizing their weapons and Aaron’s on the same page with his receivers.  As a defence, we have to go out there and play a full 60 minutes and know that they can score at any time. We have to be ready for anything.”
Rodgers was phenomenal last season as he played 15 games of the regular season to complete a total of 343 passes of 502 attempts, covering 4,643 yards. He scored 45 touchdowns and sent only six interceptions, receiving quarterback rating of 122.5 for the
season.
If the 49ers somehow tackle Rodgers the job will be fairly easy for them. They do have a lot of weapons on the defensive line to contain the Green Bay Packers quarterback and put more pressure on him by blocking his receivers.
Bowman has asserted that the players must play the entire game with their complete dedication and not get distracted by anything that happens on the field. His advice to his teammates:
“Not get complacent when something goes good for us and not get down on ourselves when something goes bad.”
