San Francisco 49ers gearing up for New York Jets offence, Tim Tebow – NFL News
Coming off a shocking 24-13 defeat against Minnesota Vikings in Week 3 game, San Francisco 49ers face another daunting challenge as they take on New York Jets in Week 4 game on the latter’s home field.
New York Jets have performed relatively well on offence this season with their quarterback Mark Sanchez looking to get his rhythm while backup quarterback Tim Tebow, who has also been used on other offensive positions, continues to surprise opponents.
Jets’ Wildcat package for Tebow is enough to create doubts in the minds of their opponents and that is why 49ers are giving special attention to dealing with Tebow as they prepare for Sunday’s game.
Tebow, who led the Denver Broncos to the playoffs last year, has been used meticulously by Jets so far and their opponents keep on guessing where the team will use him.
According to the details present on 49ers’ website, linebacker Patrick Willis has said that the team is preparing for Tebow along with the entire Jets offence. He said:
“We certainly know that he’s had some success running that in Denver and I think they’ve run it a few times this year. It’s something that we’ve been preparing for.”
Tebow can be used in a number of ways. He is a good rusher, as depicted by his last year’s performance, while he can also make some effective plays as quarterback. Whatever the case is, 49ers are ready to tackle Tebowmania.
Willis said:
“I don’t know if they’re going to try and incorporate it or use it a little bit, but whatever they decide to do, I feel like we’re going to be prepared for it.”
Meanwhile, safety Donte Whitner has said that 49ers will keep on looking for Tebow on the field and not get distracted by his movements. The safety said:
“They switch it up, they want to move Tebow around to distract you. If you’re not prepared, if you allow him to be a distraction, he can be a distraction. We’re going to know where he is at all times.”
49ers are planning well to counter Tebow, but they must also ensure that they do not give any room to Sanchez to generate scoring drives.
