San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh: We have got to bounce back – NFL News
After an upset defeat against Minnesota Vikings in Week 3 game, San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has highlighted areas for improvement for his team, hoping the players will bounce back to meet the competitive standards of National Football Conference
(NFC) West.
After the defeat, which stunned everyone as San Francisco had a healthy edge over Vikings, 49ers are placed at second spot in the division, behind Arizona Cardinals, who have won their all three games. Seattle Seahawks are at third position with 2-1 record.
49ers struggled on offence as well as defence against Vikings, who were much disciplined on the field and had done a lot of homework to counter the last year’s NFC West winners.
They are now going to face New York Jets in Week 4 game, and Harbaugh has asserted that his players must bounce back to once again start a new winning run.
According to the details present on the team’s website, the 49ers head coach said while talking to media in Boardman, Ohio:
“We didn’t play our best and we’ll look at the ways to go to work and fix that. Everybody, players, coaches, that’s something that we’re shouldered with doing. That’s our responsibility to get that done. The Vikings did, they played a very good game.”
He added:
“We’ve got to bounce back, that’s on us, to work and prepare.”
The defeat might have somewhat hurt confidence of the 49ers, who got off to a winning start to the season after defeating Green Bay Packers in Week 1 and Detroit Lions in Week 2.
Jets are also 2-1 after three games and will have the home field advantage against 49ers. They have so far played one home game this season, defeating Buffalo Bills in the opener.
As 49ers prepare for their Week 4 game, Harbaugh has acknowledged that Jets can give his team tough time on the field. He said:
“We’ll be going against another very talented, very well-coached football team, another very hostile environment. That’s just a fact of business. That’s just the nature of football in the National Football League.”
If 49ers are able to control Jets offence, the home side can be seen struggling on the field.
